It's always been my Phill-osophy that every day is a great day for running, especially in the Eastern Sierra. Well, May 19th, 2007 was no exception. With 230+ runners entered into the Bishop High Sierra Ultra how couldn't it be?
Race day was typical: dark before sunrise, light when the sun came up, hot when the sun radiated us for hours on end and breezy in the afternoon. As usual, the views of the mountains were spectacular. The race directorship and volunteers have this event dialed. Many thanks go out from all us runners to you because without you, we'd be lost, hungry and out there all alone. Congratulations to all the runners. The BHS course can be merciless and for those who succeed, can be very rewarding. Hopefully everyone enjoyed themselves as much as i did. Every year the event feels like a family reunion. See you out there next year if i don't see you on the trail sooner.
ps-Has anyone ever ran (hiked) the Evolution Loop (North Lake/South Lake via the John Muir Trail) before June 1st?
